The Stagecraft Youth Group
Stagecraft Youth Group was started in 2004 by a group of parents from the village. This group of parents has now grown and we now have more help to give the children so that they get the best experience of the stage. The people that now volunteer at Stagecraft are:
All of the adults that are working alongside the children have been CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) checked and comply with the requirements of Warwickshire County Council. We have produced musicals, Christmas shows and plays, involving all members of the group. The age of which a child can join varies, depending on whether they can cope with the levels of activities that we do and our age group range from 5 - 18 years. We meet on a Friday night at the Community Hall, in Radford Semele from 6.30pm until 9.00pm during school term time, possible holiday sessions may be required nearer a performance. A medical information and personal details form will be given to you should you wish to join. We do have a uniform at Stagecraft which is a red top, black trousers and jazz shoes, we are happy to provide the red Stagecraft tops but the members are expected to provide black trousers, if the members have jazz shoes of their own they should wear them, if not we shall provide them as well. By providing parts of the uniform we would like the members to return tops and jazz shoes if they choose to leave or if they become to small in replacement for new ones so other people can also benefit. This uniform is to be worn at each meeting, as it is important for health and safety as well as being a formal layout for the group. The fees are £40.00 per term, payable on the first Friday of that term, when an invoice will be issued, if this is a problem talk to Dee or Carol and another more suitable payment method can be organised. Regular letters are sent to keep you up to date with our activities, and the different people that we get in. We try to teach the members all aspects of stage and drama, and bring in professionals to help with song, dance, and specialist training. We also take the students to shows, to extend their knowledge of the theatre. Fund raising events are organised during the year and we hope that you and your family will be able to support your child in this. The confidence and enjoyment that the members gain from this type of club can be seen in their increasingly professional attitude to performing. We hope you enjoy the group and the most important part is to have fun! |
